Andy - Unless someone has changed the power steering box in your car the 59's do not use a "rag joint" or universal joint. The 59's have a slotted (male/female) joint just above the steering box but inside the steering shaft cover down at the bottom, that joint has a rubber insulator slee...

The VIN decodes as follows: "M" for the 1959 Model year, "2" stands for that it is V8 powered (a "1" here would have meant that it is a straight 6 Cylinder powered) "6" means it is a Fury Trim Level "3" means it was built in the Evansville, IN Plant...

Just an update of what I have been up to,or underneath of,I decided to freshen up the fury.Got the tranny back,it had A complete rebuild including the torque converter.I have decided to leave it "natural",and not paint it.Some of the assembley stamps and yellow paint marks are kind of coo...

Is it rust,or brass particles?Rust is more common with radiator/coolant issues,frequent oil changes never hurts anything.After A change cut the end of the filter apart and look between the paper pleats and see what is trapping,is the engine rebuilt,or original, just sat from lack of use?If it runs ...
