Re: broken dip stick tube
Thanks John, I was wondering if the magnet in the oil pan would hold it. That's very helpful

broken dip stick tube
Apparently a previous owner had JB welded the dip stick tube to the engine block, it was broken off at the base. I noticed this when it fell off while working on the engine. Unfortunately the section of tube that is still in the block is quite content with staying put. I've tried taping with a screw...

lubrication issue
Is oil supposed to come up through push rods to lube the rocker arm assembly? I'm not getting oil coming out through them. I cleaned quite a bit of rust out of the heads, Is it possible for them to get clogged and whats the best way to unclog them. coat hanger?
Thanks, Andy
Thanks, Andy

I think the passenger side head has a parasite. Does anyone know what this is or if it needs to be removed?

Thanks Mathew, I need to remember Rock Auto.Matthew Keij wrote:Try Rockauto.com
Just search for plymouth / 1959 / fury / 318 / engine
On the bottom it has the valve stem seals.
They show pics so you might be able to pick the correct ones.
Hope this works!

Valve stem seals
I need a set of Valve stem seals. The seals that came with the engine gasket set are wrong as well as the valve stem seals sold individually supposedly for 59 318 two barrel. Can any body tell me where I might get the correct ones or ones that would work? Thanks in advance

Re: Cowling removal
Thanks for your reply Dick and Big M. I did manage to get the valve cover off, I just needed figure out the right angle, getting that back bolt out was the biggest challenge because there wasn't much room to pull that long bolt out, but once that was out it was a piece of cake. Thanks Guys

Cowling removal
In the process of attempting to remove the passenger side head, it seems that I will first have to remove or at least loosen the cowling. Is there anything I need to know about the process of removing or loosening the cowling? I'm open to any advise. I really didn't want to have to mess with the cow...

intake manifold
I need a four barrel intake manifold and carburetor. Does anyone have either of these items? I'm considering upgrading my engine to a four barrel from a two while I have it apart., depending on the cost.
