Re: Marks winter of "59"

Dick; He did good, the headlight tool is all there as you can see. You are welcome to come and use it anytime. He also sold me some nice old Pennsylvania plates as well. I look at them often. I call him A BFF. Later Mark

Re: Trim needed

I checked mine. I forgot how bad it was, plus the previous owner put A screw to hold it on instead of fix the clip. It is junk. I have seen them on ebay now and then. Len Dawson may have A new old stock, you need the part # to search his inventory. Google Len Dawson Mopar see what comes up. I am not...

Re: Head Gasket ?

I think I found the culprit, John hit the nail on the head. I found this on the garage floor after I came back from Carlisle. It is A small piece of x mat in the shape of A drop, the size of A quarter. Must get hot and melt from some exposed area near the exhaust and drip out. I put it in under the ...

Re: Trim needed

Give me A day or two and I can see what I have. If I have A spare it most likely is dinged up bad. Can yours be buffed or beyond repair? I will check, in the mean time check with John. Mark

Started the test this morning and finished it this evening after A family function in Ohio. All is well, spec. say's 125-165 lbs, plugs all out and throttle blocked open. Every cylinder on mine was EXACTLY 125 !!! I used an older dial gauge with A plug hole adapter (threaded). So far so good. Going t...

Re: Head Gasket ?

Yesterday I went over and re torqued the intake and head bolts to specs and sequence. A couple of center head bolts got about 1/4 to 1/2 turn out of them, not real much and nothing real bad( nothing crazy) the center intake bolts did go about A turn or A little more, the rest were on the money. I am...

Head Gasket ?

I was in A parade for the 4th yesterday, A very, very, hot day, excessive idling, no air flow, etc. and the right side exhaust was producing wisps of light grey smoke, It smelled like burned rubber. I pulled out of line and headed home. It did none of that all the way home, in the garage I raced and...

Re: Marks winter of "59"

Changed the tranny oil the other day no surprises since 8,000 miles on the transmission rebuild. Minimum clutch material in the pan, new gasket and cleaned the screen. Anyone need A powerflite gasket? I got it some years ago and stuck it on A shelf not realizing it is the wrong one. Mark
