I had same problem with my starter on mine. 6 cylinder. First rebuilt was crap. Just cleaned it. Second rebuild was great. I forget the real names of parts but the main shaft was bad. Sounds great now and cranks fast.

I was leaning Ford myself. Early 50's. My coworker noted photo was taken in 54, and he figured family did not have a new car at the time. I was on Ebay and Google yesterday searching Ford year by year and did not come up with a photo with the V8 symbol and the letters after that. I will check again ...

I can't wait to see pics of your Savoy. Your car sat 10 years longer than my Belvedere. I love my rust spots, oh, I mean Patina!!!!!

Yeah, sure does look clean. How do you keep your garage so clean? LOL I walk in my garage and it gets cluttered without touchin' a thing!!!!
