Re: Front suspension rebuild
The car is already in the garage (repair shop). I'll call in tomorrow and go through the ball joints/bushings with the mechanic. Just didn't want to miss anything if the 59 had any known problem areas withing the steering/suspension. Thanks for the feedback.

Exhaust manifold valve
This might seem like a silly question but what does this valve do ? Only one side has one and mine appears to be seized solid in the open position. Does it need to be functioning ?

Front suspension rebuild
Now the engine is out of the Fury we can get a better look at some of the suspension components and things are looking worn. I've had the car over 10 years and nothing has been replaced in that time. I figured that now is as good a time as ever to sort it. I 've read recent topics concerning front e...

Re: 318 engine colours
Well it's not too late so I've changed my mind (am I allowed to ?) I'll paint the valve covers SILVER, I could do with a change anyway. Not gonna think about it any more, that is unless someone comes up with some Plymouth production information that proves the point either way. Thanks to all for the...

Re: Heater hoses
Thanks for info and pictures. I've not looked yet but the fact that the heater control was bypassed leads me to think it's in need of repair. If it can be rebuilt is there anything I need to be watching out for ? What usually fails on them ?

Re: Heater hoses
They are still there. Just got plugs in the stubs. If I could work out how to get a picture on here I'd send one. Old dogs, new tricks as they say. Call me old fashioned but it seemed a lot easier with pencil and paper !

Heater hoses
Here's another question, hopefully a little easier this time. When I bought my Fury it had an aftermarket air-con unit fitted. I've since removed it and thought nothing more of it. However whilst I've been trying to sort engine colours and looking at every engine bay picture available I notice that ...

Re: 318 engine colours
Thanks to all for the feedback. To be honest I thought I was confused before but now I'm not sure. Silver engine, black accessories, red air pan and hood springs seem to be right. It's the rocker covers I'm unsure about. I've seen some info on the WPC website that referred to silver covers for the 5...

Re: 318 engine colours
Thanks for the reply Dick. Yes fell in a hole - just couldn't find a ladder long enough to get out!
I understand that engine aluminium looks best - any thoughts for the rockers covers ?

318 engine colours
It''s been a while and after nearly two years off the road the Plymouth is hopefully getting sorted. This question has been asked over several forums, I've researched as much data as possible but still confused. It's the 318 with a 2 barrel stromberg - not sure it's the original engine because the b...

Jiffy Washer bag mounts
It's been some time since I posted anything on the forum - so long in fact that I had to re register ! Anyway, after a great deal of searching I managed to get hold of a decent 59 Washer bag. Now all I need are the mounting brackets, I guess there are three of them as the bag has three eyelets. Anyb...
