Re: Carlisle 2019!
I did! Here's the roll call so far for a room at the '59 Plymouth Motel: Matthew (&Ron?) Well, you out there! You're reading this. Why aren't you on the list?!?! I haven't made up my mind yet, I want to come but don't know if I can. Marjo needs surgery, a hip replacemnt and possibly another hernia ...

Re: Jeez, another birthday
Thank you! Not much has changed since last year, I still feel like I am 30 sometimes
The car is still not finished and Marjo is still suffering back pain but I have good hope that they will both be running fairly well next summer

Re: Rebuilding the 318
And more amazing work by Matthew, while I was busy painting ceilings and all the woodwork in the living room and kitchen he started finishing the front of the car with a little help every now and then. No headlight rings on it yet, first we need to make sure the beam is aimed right. He did clean up ...

And not to forget Roland Bonas who drove his 59 Belvedere from Luxemburg for this show. What a great day we had even with all the different languages I had to speak

Re: Rebuilding the 318
We (Matthew) do not only work on the engine but we do the whole package. He also worked on the rear window defroster that is now ready to go in. And he did some amazing work on the headlights as well, it all looks like new

Re: Rebuilding the 318
IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!! After lots of work today we got the engine running for the first time since the rebuild :!: :!: :D Took a while to get it started but with the help of our friend Andre we got it running, a bit loud without exhaust pipes but it ran well. Now we need to adjust the timing and repla...

Re: 59 Sport Fury cloth
Thanks for the reply William, this is what I needed to hear! Matthew estimated yesterday that it was about 5 1/2 but we wanted confirmation before purchasing. And we will order a bit more than we need, it is easier to store a little left over than to find the same cloth when a mistake is made ...

Re: 59 Sport Fury cloth
I would even go with estimated guesses. My skills are non existent when it comes to measuring cloth, we have bamboo furniture we had upholstered but we bought the fabric ourselves in Hawaii. When it was done we had more than half of it left

59 Sport Fury cloth
Hope someone can help me out on this one, I can buy some good upholstery fabric for my Sport Fury but I really don't know how many yards (or meters) I need. Can anyone tell me how much I need for a complete interior (swivel seats, bench and door panels). Any help would be very much appreciated!! Tha...

Re: recast steering wheels
My steering wheel was done by D&D in 2004, they did a great job for a reasonable price. If the new owner also bought the mold for the steering wheels as well he might be able to keep restoring 59 steering wheels.

Re: Jeez, another birthday
Thanks for the Birthday wishes! Actually I look better than the car right now, yesterday we took off the left front fender to clean it up and replace the inner fender with a brand new one. Finally some progress again but still not finished. Right now Marjo's recovery is more important though, she ha...

Re: Rebuilding the 318
Well we didn't see much of the soccer game today but our team won :) We did see a lot of the garage though. Friday we got the new intake manifold and it had to be media blasted so we went out to do so on Saturday morning. 20170204_095925.jpg Also had some other stuff that we had to do and then a few...
