59 SF Seat Upholstery Buckles

I've recently acquired a 1959 SF which is rough but appears to be mostly complete. I seem to have all of the 'buckles' for the door panel upholstery, but only one for the seats (I believe there are 8 total?). The one I have appears to be simply stamped steel that would be pretty easy to replicate. M...

Re: ragtops cvt

Thanks a bunch for the continued help - I hope your car is coming along well, I've heard a lot about it.

Re: ragtops cvt

Thanks for all of your help and the information and opinions - I'll let you know what transpires when I know more. Is there a list somewhere of what originally came 'stock' with the Sport Fury option? I assume that the swivel seats and the side and deck lid trim as well as the dash plaque - anything...

Re: ragtops cvt

Roger, you are correct - we met at Carlisle a few years back, and I've got a few De Sotos (56-58) and a 59 Belvedere 2 door sedan. I got an email reply from Ragtop and he states the car has the original engine, but I don't know how to confirm this or that the car is a real SF. Thanks in advance for ...

Re: ragtops cvt

I was wondering if anyone knows much about Ragtops 59 SF Convert in CO (other than the photos) - I remember reading some of the posts, but can't find much recent on the forum. Is it really a SF? Is there a SF engine in all of that or just the one with the Suburban? Any thoughts on what it is worth? ...

Sounds like I just need to be more persistant to get results with mine. Glad it worked.

Anyone know where that shot was taken where the tunnel goes through the two rocks?

I've gotten them apart by backing off the 'bolt' in the back (points towards front of car) then using that as a 'punch' of sorts to gently drive the pressed in part, out. That said, I've had it work sometimes and other times it doesn't separate using this method. Needless to say, you'll need to use ...

Headliner installation with or without glass?

Anyone have experience with putting headliners in Forward Look cars? I've currenlty got the front and rear glass out of my car and want it back in sooner rather than later (safest place to keep it is where it belongs - installed), but also will need a new headliner installed. Vastly easier to instal...

Getting closer, bu I don't think it will be ready in time for Carlisle, even if I was planning on going (two show at the same time). Thanks for the votes of confidence on the car.

sound deadening and electrical questions

Does anyone have experience with either of the following: Extensive sound deadening (dynamat, etc.) of Forward Look cars (areas of car, products, etc.)? I don't like road noise/etc., but still want to enjoy driving my car as much as possible. Generator/etc. upgrades to better support daily driving (...

Gotcha. On a '57 and '58 De Soto they are a dark gray - it is that color that I'm trying to duplicate. Anyone else?

Inner fender paint

Again, I have something relatively non-Plymouth I'd like assistance with - working on the De Soto and thought I'd pick some brains. I'm looking for someone who knows what color (name, code, etc.) inner fenders are supposed to be. I'm sure I'll eventually be asking 'real' Plymouth questions and appre...

Thanks for the information Roger. From what I know about these cars (57-59 Mopars) and mine specifically, I'll need two 'flat' windshields and one 'bubble' windshield. The 'bubble' one I need for my '58 De Soto was fine until someone with a pellet gun found it - now it is kind of 'pocked' even after...

Ragtop, I'm near you (in S. WY) and the windshield you just purchased would also fit a car I'm trying to fix. You said 'brand new' - any chance there are others where that came from for the same 300 denaros?

Thanks in advance for any information you can give.
