Re: data plates on convertibles

Ron. You can set up a US company (shell,of course) that employes over 190 59 Sport Fury lovers that are clamoring for 59 info for their restorations! Matthew, will be the staff mechanic, (if Dan will let us use him!) and you can pay us a dollar a year that we will rebate back to you under the table!...

Re: data plates on convertibles

Dick, yes I picked up 5 of them today, you need 6 and Ron needs 4, I was going to go to the other yard today (has 3 59's in it) but got a call from one of my 4 brother's that he dislocated his Elbow and broke his forearm in Dallas in a work accident and is having surgery tomorrow at noon. So I am on...

Re: WHAT CAUSED THIS MESS???

I guess a 1959 Plymouths sleep number is definetly a "59"..... firm but comfortable on the Highway!

Re: data plates on convertibles

Ron, thanks for the update on Ed's knowledge of the build codes, I use to have this info from my old Chrysler Days but have not seen it (the code breakdown sheet) for years. I will defer to Ed on these issues. PS did I hear you are moving to a new address and house? Is the address you gave me still ...

Re: data plates on convertibles

Roger, My Beleveder convert did not have a data plate either, (I have yet to find a convert that does) but the only way I know of to see what was built on any car is to request a copy of the IBM build card from Chrysler Historical. It will tell you the original color, interior style and that is was ...

Re: sheet metal for wheel wells

Daniel, I have sent a request from the Ebay seller for more info on the dogleg patch panel he has for sale, mostly to get dimensions from the wheel lip forward. To see how much room there is cover. I guess any of our members who have a 4 door 59 Plymouth can help too if they could measure the same a...

Re: sheet metal for wheel wells

Daniel, I have no problem understanding your written English. Can you tell me how far foreward in (mm/inch) from the wheel well lip you need? If it is just 70mm or less, then you can use the part you see on ebay and trim it off for the importand part, the wheel lip area, and then discard the rest of...

Re: sheet metal for wheel wells

Here is a better picture of how the leading edge of the patch panel fitted into the lower part of the B pillar jamb area. I did not have to go that far as I did, since the rust was just forward of the wheel opening where the Stone guard went, but by going further forward with the patch gave me a goo...

Re: sheet metal for wheel wells

Dan, the dog leg shown on that Ebay item is for 4 doors only. (it shows the wheel opening and the door jamb area, 2 doors would not show that being so close together) I was able to buy partial original quarters for my needed area from an Ebay guy a year ago, I will have to look up from whom to see i...

Re: Cardboard Headliner Clips.

Dick and Ron, I will go to these salvage yards sometime this week, probably next Saturday would be better for me anyhow with Christmas coming. I was going to go there anyhow to grab som gas tank straps for the 69 Charger I am putting together for my 19 year old. I was going to go over to the those 5...

Re: Cardboard Headliner Clips.

Ron and Dick, If no one has a stash in their garage for there needs right away, I can go to my local salvage yards on Monday or Tuesday. There are 4 59 Plyms I can take them off of. (there are two 2 doors HT's a 2 door wagon and one 4 door that will probably have them. But lets see if someone has th...

Re: Attaching Pictures

Dick, your new shop and lift looks super! You are all set to tackle more projects! You are the envy of all of us! I am looking for a four post lift myself for my garage to stack two of my three cars. (one being the 59 Convert) I have 14 foot ceilings in my 2 car garage already, so I have tons of roo...
